What are the warning signs of a slab leak in an Alta Loma home?
A warm patch on the floor, the sound of running water with everything off, a water meter that spins at idle, or a sudden bill jump. Any one of those justifies an electronic leak detection visit before moisture reaches baseboards and flooring.
Is rerouting really better than opening the slab?
Under custom flooring, almost always. A reroute abandons the failed under-slab run and replaces it overhead in PEX, so nothing visible is disturbed, and unlike a spot repair under the slab, that line can never leak under your floor again.
Will a water softener actually protect my fixtures?
Yes. Scale is the main killer of cartridge valves, shower glass, and premium finishes in CVWD's hard water. Conditioning the whole house extends fixture and appliance life, including tankless heat exchangers, which otherwise need frequent descaling here.
Why is my upstairs 10 degrees hotter every summer evening?
Vaulted ceilings, big west glass, and a single system designed in 1985. Heat stacks upstairs while the thermostat downstairs is satisfied. Zoning, a dedicated ductless head, or dual systems fix the physics; a bigger single unit does not.
Are there rebates for replacing my furnace or water heater right now?
On gas equipment, yes: SoCalGas pays $80-$1,500 on qualifying tankless water heaters, $300-$575 on high-efficiency tanks, and up to $25 per kBtuh on 92%+ AFUE furnaces through December 31, 2026. State heat pump funds (TECH/HEEHRA) are fully reserved, and we will tell you that straight rather than bait with dead discounts.
